CDS Announces Availability of VSP Support of Windows 98 and Windows Millennium Editions

CINCINNATI , Ohio – Constellation Data Systems, Inc today announced support of release of Virtual Serial Port framework version 2.28 which contains beta level support for implementations built around Microsoft's Windows 98 and Windows Millennium Edition. This is in addition to support already offered by Constellation in the Virtual Serial Port framework for Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

Mr. Jason Niklas, Constellation software support engineer said "version 2.28 passed the same rigorous validation tests in the Windows 98 and Windows Millennium environments that we use in validation of our framework in the Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP environments. We are already working with several OEM's who are actively integrating the full spectrum of operating system support into their applications."

Mr. Niklas also said "support of DOS under Windows 98 and Windows Millennium represented a significant developmental challenge to our software team. The design team's implementation of the DOS layer was as least as complex as the WIN16 and WIN32 layers of the same product. DOS support under Windows 98 and Millennium places Constellation with a unique solution not available elsewhere."
